first snow (?)

Last year, October 21,2008, first time it snowed flurried. (weather network Toronto,Ontario)

This year, October 15,2009, first time it snowed flurried. (weather network London,Ontario)

Will winter just keep starting earlier every year? Or is London just simply colder than Toronto?

p/s: Based on word of mouth/ weather network. I haven't witnessed this year's "snow" flurry, but i've witnessed the biting cold of London. brr.
